The Road of Water
In Yamashiro - blessed with clear streams such as Nishikigawa, you can enjoy sweetfish, soba and local Sake. One of the three major valleys of the West Chugoku Mountains National Monument. "Goryu no taki Falls", in the area is one of the 100 best waterfalls in Japan! It is a relatively easy course that takes you to the summit in about an hour from the starting point. While listening to the murmuring of the swamp, you'll love the deep greens and autumn leaves and you can moisten your throat in the spring waters (life extension water).

Taking a municipal bus from Nishikicho Station on the Nishikigawa Seiryu Line, and getting off at Jakuchikyo Iriguchi.

The Umenokigawa and the Negasagawa are rivers that flowed through the place where Heike fugitives fled and settled. And by your experiencing the rapids you can somehow feel the breath of their lives.
You can boat through the entire Nishikigawa and Lake Yasaka. Rental Canoe is also available at Lake Yasaka.
The medieval Cretaceous granite zone, located upstream of the Ozegawa flowing east of Mt. Shirataki, is a valley that forms a variety of topographies due to the erosion by flowing water. From the promenade, you can see rare strange rocks and monster stones such as Kameiwa, byobuiwa, and Kimeniwa.

The areas Nishikigawa river system, which also has the Negasagawa, and the Ozegawa system are fun locations. Auto campsites and revetment facilities are in place.
An artificial seaside park with a length of 450m, with facilities for cultural exchanges with a promenade, a restaurant and a hands-on learning room. This place has a micro-biology museum.
